Prof. R.C. Dubey is a Professor in the Department of Botany & Microbiology, Dean (Faculty of Medical Sciences and Health), and Dean- Research of the University. He has also served for nine years in Kumaun University (Nainital) (1987 to 1996). He has successfully discharged his duties as Head of the Department (twice) and the Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences. He has been the Chairman of Institutional Animal Ethical Committee for six years. He has a strong academic career standing throughout first division.
So far, he has published 190 research and review papers in the national and international journals of repute. His Google Citation Index is 4115 (Aug. 10, 21). He has produced 27 Ph. Ds. and is supervising 6 research students on varied aspects of microbiology. He has handled Research Projects sponsored by the UGC and CSIR. He has been a member of Research Degree Committees (RDCs) and Board of Studies (BOS) of several Universities. He has attended dozens of National and International Seminars/ Symposia and presented research papers and delivered lectures.
Prof. Dubey is known nationally and internationally by his books and research papers. He has published 15 books (6 authored and 9 edited books). The recently published books are Vedic Microbiology- A Scientific Approach (2021), Vedic Microbiology- (Hindi version) (2020), A Textbook of Microbiology (5 Ed. 2021), A Textbook of Biotechnology (6 Ed 2021), Rhizosphere Engineering (Elsevier, Amsterdam, Netherlands, in Press). He has also published a compilation of his poems in the form of a book Geetayan.
He has been the member of the Academic and Evaluation Committee, State Biotechnology Programme, Govt. of Uttarakhand, and Convener- Biotechnology Fundamental Glossary (CSTT, HRD Ministry, Govt. of India). He has organised several national seminars/symposia, webinars and alumni meets on various aspects of microbiology time to time. He is the life member and fellow of the Academic bodies viz., International Society for Conservation of Natural Resources, Indian Botanical Society, Indian Phytopathological Society and the. He was Associate Editor of the Journal of Indian Botanical Society and a member in the Editorial Board of the Journal of Environmental Biology and Conservation. He was nominated as the Councillor of the Indian Botanical Society for three years.
