About the Department

The department was a pioneer in starting the P.G. diploma and Master’s Programme in Commercial Methods of Chemical Analysis (CMCA). It is DST (FIST) approved department now. Department has been entertaining the requests for recording spectra etc of the samples from various universities like Jiwaji University, Gwalior, University of Delhi, H. S. Gaur university, Sagar, G.N.D. University, Amritsar, C.C.S. University, Meerut and Colleges of HNB Garhwal university, Srinagar etc.

History

1958 – Established as Undergraduate department
1985 – Started P.G. diploma in “Commercial Methods of Chemical Analysis on recommendations of VI five-year plan visiting committee of U.G.C.
1991 – Converted P.G. Diploma into masters’ programme
1993 – Started Ph.D. programme

Vision and Mission

The aim of the department is to enhance the physical, moral and intellectual strength of students through teacher taught relationship which is based on our age-old Gurukul System of Education. To fulfil these mission students are enriched both with indigenous and modern knowledge without any caste, creed and untouchability.

Master’s Programme is job oriented and Applied with almost 100% job absorption of students in various institutions/ Industries. This programme includes an Industrial training in IV semester Masters programme provides opportunity to students for getting absorbed as Quality Control Chemists, Research & Development Chemists and Analytical Chemists in various laboratories and institutions.
