The university awards three degrees at the undergraduate level in the faculties of Humanities and Oriental Studies- B.A., Vidyalankara and Vedalankara. There is semester system (CBCS). The Department offers English Literature as an optional subject.

The Department awards the degree of M.A. in English to the students at the Postgraduate level. There is semester system (CBCS) and the department teaches eight papers in M.A. previous and eight in M.A. final.

The University awards the degree of Ph. D. in English. The intake of the students in this programme is as per the guidelines of the UGC. The thrust areas of research in this department are application Indian literary theories, Tansgender literature, Canadian literature literatures in translation, Dalit literature and its aesthetics .
