About Department
The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences was initiated in 2007 with the commencement of the B.Pharm. program. The University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi given approval under the 10th Plan for starting the B.Pharm. course.
The Department is presently running the following programs: 4-year Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.), 2-year Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm.), 2-year Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm.) with specializations in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
All the pharmacy programs are duly approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi. The courses are job-oriented and emphasize applied aspects of pharmaceutical sciences, preparing students for diverse professional roles in academia, industry, research, and healthcare sectors.
History
The department was started since 2007 with B. Pharm. course. University Grants Commission, New Delhi sanctioned Rs. 15 Lakhs in 10th-PLAN for starting B. Pharm course. Presently, the department is running under the Faculty of Medical Science & Health of the Vishwavidyalaya. The B. Pharm. course was started by maintaining standards higher than the minimum prescribed by Pharmacy council of India, New Delhi.
