About Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya Alumni Association
Established in 2008 and as Registered body in 2015, GKV Alumni Association looking forward while aiming to maintain a life-long connection between the Institute and its alumni’s, who are number more than 50,000. In collaboration with an extremely dedicated team of board of member, the Alumni Association works to connect alumni, support students and build an unforgettable Institute experience through a diversity of events, programming and services. Reaching out to GKV Alumni: we are proud to have as its alumni working in the field from social scientists, scientist’s civil servants, literary critics, media experts, foreign language experts, journalists, political leaders, social activists, technologists, managers and entrepreneurs over the last 70 years and more. This number will continue to grow. Within the banner of GKV, the GKV Alumni Association is looking forward to grow more and develop a better linkage between Vishwavidyalaya and Alumni and Vice Versa.
GKV is one of the leading centre of excellence in higher education. At GKV, we believe in brilliance in education with social responsibility and commitment, and wish to become a bench mark for Indian Education system.
Since last more than 100 years GKV has evolved in ancient education techniques of Vedas while involving the modern outlook of education from science and technology. Gurukula, as a research oriented university with emphasis on graduate post graduate teaching. With hostel facilities for students and residences of teachers built close together, the Vishwavidyalaya instructional and research programmes go beyond the classroom and normal office hours.
Looking ahead on with the long lasting history of Vishwavidyalaya, GKV is concentrating upon some major teaching and research programmes which can also in relevance nations growth and development. Recognising this, in last few years and in coming we years we are looking forward to start new programmes including continuing education programmes for the betterment of students as well as community people with major focus on skill development as well as integrated approach for our students.
Research and skill base education are the demand of Higher Education in today’s Society for which Vishwavidyalaya as committed for.
As invaluable inputs to research and education, the Vishwavidyalaya has an archaeological and history museum. Vishwavidyalaya is modernising its educational and research facilities. Department wise Science Instrumentation Laboratories are being strengthened and other teaching aids are being introduced. Wide spread implementation of e-governance and internet connectivity has become a must for GKV. Seminar halls in each department with capacities of 100 – 150 and a Central Auditorium with a capacity to seat 500 – 600 people, with guest house of international standards will enable GKV to host many more seminars, conferences and workshops.
There are many more such things under the process and planning phase of development for betterment of Vishwavidyalaya and its continuous growth.
